to the beach and back again...

I was hoping to add a few posts previous to this about the visit from Elder Teixiera for the youth session of Stake conference, of Myrtle Beach, the winding down of summer season, the start of school for Dave, and yet they have all passed by without an utterance of them on my newly found journal/news broadcast. As always, I look forward to the future, but find it almost painful to realize how much time has passed, and yet again, I failed to record it. So, here is where I will try my best to remember.

Elder Teixeira's most memorable lessons:
When your on your way "home" to Germany after taking care of Church business in Austria, and there is a sudden Soviet invasion that sends the Czech on a level 100,000 emergency that creates road blocks and havoc galore, try your best to drive through cornfields, make agreements with trustworthy, strangers, offer up riduculous amounts of money in exchange for assistance, plead with uniformed men to let you through, but all the while, Pray. When every path you've tried and you've tried every path ends up at a line of machine gun carrying fanatics, Pray. When you are told your firstborn son that is in your wife's arms is not yours and will not be permitted to take him with you, Pray. And all will be well... at least, all will be as intended.

Myrtle Beach:
The first REAL dajbeach vacation! It was such a blast, and like I like to say, "Officially." It was so much fun and relaxing. Being near the beach is therapy, for certain. Her are some of my prized pictures from our week of fun:

So we spent a lot of time at the beach, we got burnt, we ate very well thanks to Julie's and Dave's cooking techniques, we scrapbooked and played some games. And we survived a so called Tropical Storm Hanna. But the Great Blackout of 2008 was much worse.

Well that's it for my lunch breack. I hope to get back with you all soon.
